Why would anyone choose anything other than WordPress for their news-themed website? WordPress is absolutely perfect for personal and enterprise-level publishing (ask CNN, Wall Street Journal, Mashable). “The Gossip” WordPress theme is minimal, responsive, and balances white space in a way that only a graphic designer can truly appreciate.
The Gossip is Loaded With Features
- Responsive – the screenshot on the left is what The Gossip looks like on a mobile phone screen. The navigation bar appears on the top left, allowing the visitor to readily access the pages on your website.
- Tons of shortcodes – check them out here. The shortcodes having to do with paragraph alignment and page layout are listed on the top of the page, which is what you’d expect with a magazine-style theme.
- Image resizing – CSS3 “media queries” cue the page to stack and re-appropriate content to fit different screen sizes. I’m a big fan of resizing images to look better on phones.
- High resolution display – I can attest that it looks great on a retina-display iPad.
The screenshot above is what it looks like vertically positioned on an iPad.
We Highly Recommend This Theme
Anyone looking to start a magazine-type blog should look a this theme. It’s fully localized, translation-ready, and has a look that will still be fresh 5 years down the road.
